About

My name is Aquila (ah-kwill-ah) and design and printing are in my blood.

My Afi (grandfather) and great uncle started and ran a printing company called Viking Printers in Winnipeg’s North End. They printed, among other things, the North American Icelandic community newspaper, Lögberg (now Lögberg-Heimskringla), in both English and Icelandic. My Dad grew up watching them setting hot-metal type, flipping from language to language with ease. Long after Viking Printers closed, I worked at Lögberg-Heimskringla while I was in design school.

Today, I am a CDP™ (Certified Design Professional), through the Design Professionals of Canada (DesCan), formerly the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC). With close to 20 years of design experience in the non-profit industry, in 2021 I decided to start my own business.

I work collaboratively with non-profit clients, helping solve problems and creating beautiful and effective designs, in both traditional and digital applications.
